Trevoir Williams is the author of Microservices Design Patterns in .NET, we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.
Q: What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?
Trevoir: Software Development
Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?
Trevoir: I was contacted via LinkedIn. I was motivated just to try something new.
Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?
Trevoir: I researched each topic as much as I could. I did the research per chapter, not necessarily before writing the book.
Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?
Trevoir: Yes, I had a demanding full-time job and taught part-time while running a business. I was able to secure a more flexible day job, and that’s where I could better manage my time.
Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?
Trevoir: These technologies are cutting-edge, and there is a big future for them.
Q. Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?
Trevoir: Most other books discuss concepts or go hands-on. They don’t always explain the why and provide some insight into why.
