Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?
Oguzhan: Packt discovered me via Linkedin, where they offered me the opportunity to co-author a comprehensive book on 5G. Upon meeting my talented co-authors, I was convinced we could create an insightful book. My primary motivation was to bridge the gap between complex technical specifications and practical, usable knowledge about 5G networks.

Oguzhan: Mastering 5G Network Design, Implementation, and Operations.
Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?
Oguzhan: My existing consultancy role necessitates ongoing research. I delve into academic papers and 3GPP specs. In preparation for writing the book, I spent about 3-4 months conducting intensive research. Even as I began writing, I continued researching to ensure the most accurate, current information.

Oguzhan: Readers will gain an in-depth understanding of 5G technology, its application, and future potential. They’ll grasp the intricacies of 5G network design, deployment, and management, and will gain insights into the impact of 5G on a variety of domains.

Oguzhan: Writing technical content for a diverse reader base always presents challenges. The content must be clear and comprehensive, requiring deep research and considerable time. I adjusted my daily activities, freeing up more time for the book and ensuring a perfect blend of detail and simplicity in the content.

Oguzhan: 5G is an emerging technology that redefines global connectivity. It presents numerous opportunities for individuals, industries, and technologies alike. I foresee this technology continuing to evolve, ushering in new avenues in the IoT sphere, private networks, and beyond.
Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?
Oguzhan: I began by outlining the major topics and then allocated time for research and writing. Prioritization was key – complex topics were given more time and effort. Regular revisiting of the outline ensured the book remained comprehensive and cohesive.
Q. What are your favorite tech journals? How do you keep yourself up to date on tech?
Oguzhan: I regularly read white papers from leading tech vendors like Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, and Samsung. I also keep tabs on publications from GSMA and 3GPP. These resources help me stay abreast of the latest advancements in technology.
