Interview with Morten Pedholt Pedersen

Morten Pedholt Pedersen is the author of Mastering Windows 365 we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Morten: I did team up with Christiaan and Sandeep on this. Christiaan already wrote a book a few years ago so he had the contact with Packt, and I just sort of jumped in.

Q: What is the name of your book?

Morten: Mastering Windows 365.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Morten: I did not research anything specific.

Q: What key takeaways do you want readers to come away with from the book?

Morten: Some of the key takeaways is how the product can help companies and also inspiration and know-how on how to configure it.

Q: Can you share any blogs, websites and forums to help readers gain a holistic view of the tech they are learning?

Q. Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Morten: Along the writing process I hit a kind of “writing wall”, I had to take a break of a couple of weeks to get back on track.

Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?

Morten: Overall I’m happy with the work with Packt, they helped us throughout the process. I would recommend Packt.

Q. Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Morten: This book is written by some of the people who helped develop the product and have experience in big deployments around the world.

Q. What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?

Morten: My specialist tech area is Windows 365.

Q. What advice would you give to readers jumping into this technology? Do you have any top tips?

Morten: Try it out! Its easy to get started and once you start using the product you instantly see how easy and simple it is to manage, deploy and connect to Cloud PCs.

Q. What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Morten: I think Windows 365 will be defining the Personal Computing for companies all around the world. It will support the flexible and complex world we live in today.

Q: What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?

Morten: For me it was really important to get something written down to start with. Having something already written it’s easier to choose the direction.
