Michaël: Industrial AI/ML
Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?
Michaël: Packt contacted me following the advice of a colleague who knew I was passionate about the subject (time series analysis). My motivation is to share unique knowledge I haven’t found anywhere else regarding time series analysis with AI/ML.
Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?
Michaël: I haven’t done specific research for the book, but all the topics are part of my daily job. I research daily on these topics to delight my partners and customers.
Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?
Michaël: I learned a lot about writing a good narrative for a chapter and how to make a chapter easy to go through for a reader. These challenges overcame by working with the Packt team reviewing each chapter.
Q. What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?
Michaël: I see these technologies providing more valuable insights while requiring less and less heavy lifting from their users (more advanced visualization, fewer configuration steps, etc.).
Q. Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?
Michaël: No other books deal with this topic on the market as these managed AI/ML services are pretty new (and for some of them, pretty unique)
Q. What are the key takeaways you want readers to come away with from the book?
Michaël: No advanced ML skills are necessary to deliver great insights, thanks to AI/ML!
Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?
Michaël: Read, practice, learn, find projects to apply new knowledge, rinse and repeat!

Michaël: Too many of them: Medium is a good source, but you have to find the right authors to follow.
Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?
Michaël: I learned a lot and was well accompanied by the Packt team since day one.
Q. What are your favorite tech journals? How do you keep yourself up to date on tech?
Michaël: No tech journals can keep up to date. I use mainly arXiv and regularly browse to see the latest and top papers in my domain.
Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?
Michaël: Regular work is vital: I wake up early and clock in 1h or 1h30 of work every morning before my workday starts.
Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?
Michaël: Signposting! It makes the reading experience very fluid, but this was not natural for me!
