Fahad Ali SARWAR is the author of Python Ethical Hacking from Scratch, we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?

Fahad: Information security

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Fahad: I have already created multiple courses related to ethical hacking on different platforms. My motivation for this book is to share what i have learnt with others and to create awareness about information security.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Fahad: I went through multiple books and online blogs to gather information about related material.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Fahad: Time management. I am doing a PhD at the moment so managing time for writing the book was little tricky, however the schedule created by Packt team helped me follow the deadlines.

Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Fahad: Python is going to be one of the most important languages in cyber security going forward.

Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Fahad: This book has a hands-on approach and with practical exercises you learn more about ethical hacking process.

Q. What are the key takeaways you want readers to come away from the book with?

Fahad: To start understanding the in depth process of ethical hacking and create their own tools.

Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?

Fahad: Practice.

Q. Do you have a blog that readers can follow?

Fahad: Not at the moment.

Q. Can you share any blogs, websites and forums to help readers gain a holistic view of the tech they are learning?

Fahad: There are numerous websites, hard to pin point.

Q. Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?

Fahad: Yes, sure.

Q. What are your favorite tech journals? How do you keep yourself up to date on tech? 

Fahad: There are numerous YouTube channels and websites.

Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?

Fahad: specifying days on which I would work on the book.

Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?

Fahad: spending time planning chapters.
