Interview with Enrico Pirozzi on writing with Packt.

Enrico Pirozzi is the author of the book Learn PostgreSQL and PostgreSQL 10 High Performance. We got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: How long did it take you to write the book?

Enrico: Seven Months.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Enrico: A month for the things I don’t use in my daily job.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Enrico: Yes I did, I’m not a native English speaker, so I got help from the LSE Packt reviewers.

Q: What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?

Enrico: First study the theory on databases and the fundamentals for managing Linux / Unix servers.

Q. How do you keep up-to-date on your tech?

Enrico: Every day, I consult the official web site and his mailing lists pg-hack, pgadmin, pg-general. I also consult websites and blogs of postgresql developers / dba.
