Arun Kumar Asokan is the author of UiPath Administration & Support Guide; we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.
Q: What are your specialist tech areas?
Arun: Business Process Management and Robotic Process Automation
Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?
Arun: I was not able to find quality UiPath platform support personnel in market and i have to personally train mail new candidates to perform this role. Then the idea stuck me that there is a lot of demand for UiPath platform support and resources are scares. No one will invest time to write this one because we need extensive knowledge performing the role. Hence i wanted to fill this gap and its my motivation to share my learning with the world.
Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?
Arun: I interviewed multiple UiPath leaders , support personnel and analyst reports to gather topics to be covered.
Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?
Arun: What kind of details to be covered in each chapter . The scope of details was the main challenge. We can write each chapter from different user perspectives .
Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?
Arun: RPA is one of the fastest growing technologies and Forrester predicting that RPA-related services could bring in $16 billion by 2025. UiPath is the leader in market share of over 10500+ customers.
Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?
Arun: Only resource that focus on UiPath platform is available in official UiPath documents and academy. It would take more than 1 year to completely understand the topics and use them in work. If the reader picks this book then in matter for weeks they will be ready for performing UiPath support and administration work & help to clear interview too.

Arun: You’ll learn how to set up UiPath platform Administration, support , monitoring, reporting, deployment, maintenance & advanced topics. In addition to this, the best practices on each of the topic will be provided by the author.
Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?
Arun: Try to do additional research arounds the topics covered in the book and not just limit the scope to the information presented in the book

Arun: Blocked 1 hr after work on weekdays and 4 hrs on weekends for 9 months 🙂
Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?
Arun: Take your time and always review the next day or even week after writing a section.
