Luis Aguirre is the Co-Author of Data Processing with Optimus we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.

Q: What is/are your specialist tech area(s)?

Luis : Web Development

Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?

Luis : Argenis (co-author) did come up with this amazing opportunity. Writing this book was an amazing experience, I learned a lot. My main motivation was to bring up new opportunities for our potential users to know about Optimus.

Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?

Luis : I spent a week researching about the writing style that can be used.

Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?

Luis : Since Optimus was still a bit early at the time, we had to quickly make some design decisions.

Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?

Luis : For a still relatively unknown world like data science, technologies like Pandas and Dask are subject to being superseded. But since they are laying down the groundwork of this area, it will be a long time since then, there is still to grow.

Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?

Luis : It’s the first book talking about Optimus.

Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?

Luis :  Learning to find an answer is more important than learning those answers

Q. Do you have a blog that readers can follow?

Luis : Yes, medium.com/hi-bumblebee

Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?

Luis : It was an amazing experience, it is always good for tech people like us to learn to communicate in many ways with our user base, and writing this book with Packt is a great opportunity for that.
