Jeremiah Crowley is the author of Democratizing Artificial Intelligence with UiPath; we got the chance to sit down with him and find out more about his experience of writing with Packt.
Q: What are your specialist tech areas?
Jeremiah : RPA, Automation, AI, ML.
Q: How did you become an author for Packt? Tell us about your journey. What was your motivation for writing this book?
Jeremiah: Was reached out to by Packt after delivering a webinar on Automation + AI.
Q: What kind of research did you do, and how long did you spend researching before beginning the book?
Jeremiah: Did some research in the beginning, however not a lot was needed, as most of the material was from previous experience.
Q: Did you face any challenges during the writing process? How did you overcome them?
Jeremiah: Didn’t face many challenges, the biggest was staying organized, but Packt was able to structure the writing process in a logical manner.
Q: What’s your take on the technologies discussed in the book? Where do you see these technologies heading in the future?
Jeremiah: Automation and AI/ML are definitely technologies that will change the way we work and live.
Q: Why should readers choose this book over others already on the market? How would you differentiate your book from its competition?
Jeremiah: I don’t believe there are any competing books in the market on this topic yet.
Q: What are the key takeaways you want readers to come away with from the book?
Jeremiah: To learn that interacting with AI & ML is not as scary as some may think.
Q. What advice would you give to readers learning tech? Do you have any top tips?
Jeremiah: To always ask questions.

Jeremiah: No.
Q. Can you share any blogs, websites and forums to help readers gain a holistic view of the tech they are learning?
Jeremiah: No.
Q. How would you describe your author journey with Packt? Would you recommend Packt to aspiring authors?
Jeremiah: Yes, was a well organized journey.
Q. Do you belong to any tech community groups?
Jeremiah: No.
Q. What are your favorite tech journals? How do you keep yourself up to date on tech?
Jeremiah: TechCrunch, Ars Technica, Wired.
Q. How did you organize, plan, and prioritize your work and write the book?
Jeremiah: I followed the schedule set out by Packt, and then made sure I set enough time to outline, review the outline, and write the drafts.
Q. What is that one writing tip that you found most crucial and would like to share with aspiring authors?
Jeremiah: Create an outline before hand, review the outline after a couple of days, then start drafting and iterating.
